Default Anyone placed HID's in the fog light housing?

Well it's been a few years since i've actually had to come here, my disco's been running great. But i am about to take it on a roadtrip from orange county, CA to Portland OR (~1k miles) and i was thinking of upgrading the fog lights.

DDM Tuning is a local reputable place that seems to get good product reviews (customer service is lacking), but i was wondering if anyone has done this? Do the HID bulbs fit in the housing? And how difficult was the job?

Thanks,
Drew

I use DDM tuning replacement HID bulbs in my Volvo, not sure about their whole kits though. Their bulbs have lasted 2 years so far while running full time.

Yeah, i hear good things about them.

I'm just wondering if the H1 HID bulbs will fit in the housing since they are a bit longer from what i hear.

Well you'll obviously need ballasts, and since halogen and HID reflectors are different you may get an odd light pattern/ not as much output.

If you want real fog lights (which would be a good thing where you're going) then forget HID's.
They are, by their very nature, unsuitable for use as fog lights.

Well i would be getting the 3000k HID's whch are yellowish, they offer the best lighting for rain, fog etc.

But i'm actually surprised no one has put HID's as their fog light, anyone out there?

There's more to good fog lights than the color.
Here's some good information: Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply
