Default anyway to trick tape deck?

I purchased a cheap cassette tape/in-out. It works fine for about 2 seconds until the rover tape deck kicks it out because it's not a real cassette tape. Anybody know of a way to trick the player into keeping the tape in the deck?

Maybe try a different one. I used a Sony brand one that worked fine until I upgraded to Bluetooth. I used to Atlantic British mp3 kit and added a Bluetooth adapter. No more wires and better sound now.

Went to Wallmart and got this and never had a problem with mine. Works for both the i pod and the Andriod. I got SWMBO an i pod adapter for her Volvo and tried it out on the Disco first and had similar problem to you. I found that by "jiggling" it when I inserted it in the Disco helped to make it work

I tried this years ago but would only get one side of the vehicle to play anything. The other side was really low in volume. Put in an actual tape with music on it, no problem. Tried 3 different brands and it was the same. Got to do the Atlantic British mp3 kit or send my head to Rover Radio to have the jack installed.

I got it to work. Inside the tape is a little plastic cog wheel that prevents the tape from spinning. I removed it and it stays in the tape deck now. The tape spins continuously and the sound quality isn't that good but I wasn't expecting much since this tape/line in was only $2.50 including shipping. I don't know how they even ship it that cheap.

willrok, when you installed the bluetooth adapter, is it hidden? Where does it connect?

I've been using a tape insert for years which has worked and will still work, but I'd much rather have bluetooth If I can hide it.
