I did this to put an 03-04 bumper not, not the ARB. I put the 99-02 ARB on my truck.

As for big bumpers, they offer protection. The DII doesn't have much of a front overhang at all until you start adding bumpers. The rear overhang is 1000x worse. The Tactical rovers bumper and TeRRAFIRMa bumper have great approach angles.

Thanks. I'm thinking the 99-02 bumper is the way to go, especially since I have a 2002.

Stupid question to follow on - are Hella fogs (My Hella Lights :: Rallye 4000 Fog) better than the factory fogs on the 2002? Reason I ask is that the Hella lights would be grille height and toward the middle, while the factory ones are low and on the outside.

You can adjust the ARB to make it sit higher or lower on the truck so no trimming of the truck should be needed.

the rallye 4000 fogs are a thousand times brighter than the factory lights, its...night and day....

By the way, you should put your location in your profile.

Thats the truth! I went out wheeling today and we got into a patch of fog coming back out from the point we were at, and there was very little margin to the drivers side (think 3 feet then you are in the ocean), I was leading the group and I turned my 4000's on and they cut through the fog like a hot knife through butter. It was awesome.

Very cool. When you say Rallye 4000 fog, we are all referring to the actual "fog" version of the lights, not the standard ones right? Thanks everyone!

I mean like the D90. It seems way better than a Disco. A JK with oversize tires will basically do 90 degrees, so the Disco at like 40 degrees is starkly limited.

Trailrunner,

I was brand new to rovers when a deer gave me this same opportunity, and I was green and went for the stock replacement. Now, all I do is look at bumpers. I, like you, want the fogs of the 03/04 ARB, but no recovery points was not good. I think this is what I am going to go with now. Four years after my new stock bumper provided by the insurance company, and more knowledge of my rover and off-roading. You may want to consider this bumper by HLC Fab.

Or HLC Fab can put whatever type bull bar or no bull bar. They have done this same style bumper with multiple types of A-bar, full traditional bull bar, and most any other way you may want it up top. They can also make some changes to the design of the face of the bumper within some limits, as each bumper is custom made. You get the nice fogs that they provide to connect to your stock fog light wiring, great shackle mount points that are very sturdy, and with or without the winch opening.

That is a very nice looking bumper! I however do not see that particular one on their site.
