Ashcroft CDL linkage cable routing
I've been working on prepping and installing the Ashcroft CDL linkage. I'm at a point where I'm now trying to install the linkage, but am dumbfounded by how to route the cable on the assembly. The Lucky 8 video misses a lot of key points, such as this. The control cable extends out from the right-side of the shifter assembly. I assume the cable is routed counter-clockwise. Mocking it up earlier like that, the cable ends up sitting atop the front driveshaft. Didn't see any place to ziptie the cable to the body to keep it away from anything hot or spinning.
Hahaha, yeah that was a big old pain to get the routed in there. You have to really force it down in once you get it close. that cable is longer than it needs to be and stiff. Once I di dall of that I had no binding issues.
Got it routed counter-clockwise from the shifter to the t/c. Got it buttoned up this evening trying to get ready for a camping trip this weekend. The shifter is, unfortunately, pointing about as far to the right as it can within the confines of the console. It does rub up against the cigar lighter when shifted into low range (unlocked). I'm just going to have my shop try to adjust it when I take the D2 in for some work soon. I wished Ashcroft had included some tips about adjusting the linkage and Lucky8's video definitely skipped over that bit.
