CDL Cable Replacement Question
To some of the more technical experts here, I did not see a thread on this but I may have missed one in the D1 section:
-My 04' blew it's front drive shaft and was replaced with a Great Basin and fortunately did not kill the transmission or any other critical component however it did slice the CDL cable. (This happened prior to my purchasing the G4, some might remember the one available in Swansee, MA a few months back. I picked it up for less than the asking price and other than a leaky T-case and the CDL cable it is in remarkable shape, with all sorts of extras: the lift, disconnects, ARB (un-wired though), and newer drive shaft are just a few, thanks to the previous owner.)
-Is it possible to replace just that cable from underneath the vehicle, has anyone had experience with this?
-I have pulled the center consol when installing the CDL shifter on my 2000 but is there way to release the cable from underneath?
Thanks and if I have to pull the consol not a big deal but I can release the cable from the transfer case and was just wondering.

FYI... just follow the Ashcroft install. I was going to post photos, etc. but after spending five hours under the truck I deduced that just pulling the console is the way to replace a CDL cable if it must be replaced. This is an option though for those who have long nimble arms and don't mind pulling the drive shaft for service.
Thanks.
Thanks.
