Did you try switching the head unit to cd while the iPod was playing? Maybe it has to detect an audio signal before it will activate. Just a thought...

Goes in the back of the radio. Either way, it wont work. I emailed the vendor and they said I could send them back. I think their banking on people not taking the time to return a $14 product to make some cash...

Default iDeck Intergrated Car Cassette Tape Adapter For iPod (Certified Made for iPod)

I bought this for my 2003 disco from e bay. It sits in the tape deck so is the carrage for the i pod and has an AUX socket for my andriod. it only cost $39. Also means i can use the steering wheel controls as well. Well worth the money.

I have the same tape line in solution. The sound is phenomenal through my Android 2 Global. I will say to make sure you get the Sony brand tape. Don't settle for the cheap, no name tapes.

Here's how I got it to "work". Stripped the wires that came on the ebay harness and soldered them to pins 14, 13, and 16/17 on the original 8pin blue plug on the back of the radio harness. You have to keep a CD playing while you want to use the aux. The best thing would be 1 track that spanned a CD with repeat on. Yes, it's a hack but it's $15 bucks rather than $70 to $130 solutions. One guy I saw did the same and did a switch to toggle between CD playback and aux...

Oh, and from what I read, the Alpine MBUS looks for a signal from the changer via one wire. I think providing a constant voltage to that pin on the same harness might be the "trigger" without having to use the CD trick. Anybody want to try?
