Could be a bad relay or could be a wiring issue. I *think* you can swap out the horn relay to test, but check the pinouts to be sure. If that doesn't do it you can trace out Pin 87 of the cooling fan relay socket to the + side of the fan itself, or feed power into the socket and see if the fan comes on. You also may want to use 1 alligator clip at a time to isolate whether it's ground or power that has the issue.

Unlikely to be a bad temp sensor since the ECU uses the same coolant temp signal to adjust the mixture as well as feed the dash gauge. You could rule this out with a scangauge or similar.

I picked up a RL44 relay today. per this thread.
https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ats-etc-63203/

Installed at auto parts store drove home, fan isn’t running. I would think it would kick on at least when I park or driving.

Could the coolant be cooling the engine enough it doesn’t need the fan? I have the white 180 degree thermo, I now have the inline 180 thermo and gates 22073 hose to install as well.

I need to get a ultra gauge or similar to know exact temps.

The AUX fan comes on when the AC is on and the ambient temp is over 83° (or something close). According to the discussion above, the coolant temp sensor needs to see 210° for the ECU to energize the relay. It's definitely possible, likely even, that you aren't seeing those temps if you have the 180° thermo..

I decided to run the AC again today and temp stayed in the middle. I drove across town, and parked didn’t notice fan running then went back out to check and silent.

My blower motor inside is a little loud, might need to look into a replacement as well.

Going to look into a ultra gauge, so I can get real temp readings, any recommendations?
