As for as abandoning the truck. I had already sat there for close to 40 minutes calling every wrecker service google listed in the area. No one had a 4x4 that could get back there. My wife wasn't answering, and all of my friends were at least an hour away. At least the engine was running and we had A/C. When I realized I had no choice but to walk out I called a cab company to get someone to meet me just over a mile away at a corner gas station.

While I was there standing in the blazing sun holding a fussing 2 1/2 year old, I guy in a huge lifted black JEEP pulls up with a massive wench on the front bumper. I thought surely it was a sign from above. Just as he's getting out I asked if he'd ever used his wench, he said: "Ha ha no man, not yet" in a ****ing childish laugh. I'm like wow, I could really use your help now, I'm stuck just down the street. He said he had to be somewhere and couldn't help. ****ing posers.

Anyway, I was stuck down in a ravine and the truck wasn't visible from anywhere other than right on top of it. Plus this is an area within a state park so it doesn't get much traffic. But with a toddler on the brink of a melt down, coming back to my window busted out and my stuff stolen was the least of my worries..
