Back Bumper
I'm not big on junk, so don't get me wrong. But I do operate a manufacturing facility where I could have brake-press operators, welders, and painters refurbish the whole thing. I don't have the time or ambition to design one from scratch but in the end I wasn't going to make the drive for this steel bumper. I'd rather wait for another factory unit to come along. A member has offered-up one; does the plastic skin seperate from the steel subframe? I think we could get the shipping cost down quite a bit if this is possible. This is where my curiosity lies now, so I would appreciate some info pertaining to this new agenda.
Yep, the plastic skin will separate from the bumper itself, which is actually not steel but instead some kind of fiberous plastic. Quite strong, I've lifted the back of my truck with the hi-lift by it.

chubbs. that's funny.
if you like the truck and take it off the farm get a steel bumper. terrafirma looks about right for price/use.
or get really lucky and find a cheap used one.
the craziest thing to do would be to buy a new original bumper of course.
i've repaired tons of plastic on both trucks with JB weld and have even got a little creative as these trucks just aren't worth it unless that's your thing...then love has no value.
gluing your truck seeems cheesy. but so are plastic bumpers.
i'm doing my back bumper right now because if I'm going to put any money into a truck it'll be another one.

Hey man, I have already glued, taped and designed little custom pieces to camouflage the damage to the front bumper, and until you get right up on it with a magnifying glass, you couldn't tell that it is junk. But no, I couldn't spend $5-600 on a new factory piece of plastic knowing how brittle this stuff becomes. The bumpers, finishers, all junk. I'm with you, as long as the unit isn't missing large pieces, you can dress it up. I don't off-road or wheel so I won't put any money into big custom pieces until I have the time and money for that so for now I just make due with stuff that other people have upgraded from, when I can.
Nice steel bumpers are the real deal. That and a lift of some sort.
