Back seat won't latch.
I’ve run into a small problem with my 2000 Disco that’s making me a little crazy. When returning the rear passenger seat (driver’s side) to the upright position, it fails to lock. Not a big issue, since I seldom have passengers, but it adds a significant new rattle to the symphony of noises that already accompanies me down the road.
Thought I’d check here to see if there might be a quick fix, before getting into the tool-box.
Thanks.

Describe it more. Is the latch mechism in the "latched mode" instead of the unlocked mode? The unlocked mode would allow you to jam the seat into it and then it would go into "latched mode". SEE if you can turn the latch, then hit the button you use to release the seat into the downward position and turn latch whatever way it will go, I think it would turn towards the front of the truck.
There is a latch handle on the outboard top of each seat back. The handle is pulled up to release the seat back and normally returns to the down and locked position when the seat back is returned to upright. In this case, the handle will not lock down and the seat remains unhooked.
The opposite side works as intended: when the seat back is raised, the latch handle locks.
