Default Bad LR gas caps.

I have a EVAP P0455 code that trips the lamp on a regular basis. I have pumped down the evap system and can find no leaks. Replaced the filler cap and still get the same code on a regular basis. I found a TSB stating that LR was having issues here from 00-01 on certain models. My vin does not fit the recall. Not it states that there "may" be a difference in the threads on filler caps that are now produced, and at times, like when the pump pulls fesh air into the canister, that they may leak, turning the light on. Now they would replce the cap and filler neck as a pair, under recall to fix the prolem. Im dreading when we get emissions testing at home bc the filler neck alone is 900 bucks. Seems a bit rediculous when the fix should be a 15 dollar cap. Anyone else run into the same problem?

Yes, I get the code all the time and I'm 100% sure I have no leaks. I've had it checked TWICE. Its annoying.... What is the Vin range?

Disco II 2A736349-4A868629.we are doing emmisions testing in lab and my instuctor said we have the "smoke machine" for testing evap systems and when we get back to lab he said i am more than welcome to fill it up and see whereif itsleaking. Hopefully this week. But i can tell you i will not spend the money on a new filler neck. I might try to find an old cap at a scrap yard or soemthing and see if it works.

Theres no way the filler neck is $900, the whole fuel tank is less than that.

I wonder if the dealer is including a new gas tank too?
There is a write up on how to replace the filler neck, if I remember right it is like a $1 DIY repair. I think he used a radiator hose.
Check AB and Rovers North.
