Default Bad steering!

Hey I have a 2004 disco 2 with only 125,000km on it and my problem is when I turn the steering wheel it will take a lot of effort then it will ease up for a full turn then tighten back up. The power steering pump isn’t whining or leaking or anything like that. Also the disco was sitting in a parking garage for 2-3 years not being driven. So is it a bad pump or air in the lines???????

Lube the two joints on the steering shaft. One is close to the firewall and the other is down by the gearbox.

Also, check the metal heat shield around your driver side motor mount because it can bend near the metal steering linkage and if they rub then it sort of locks your steering until you put a lot of arm muscle into it.

If you find that, just bend the heat shield away from your steering.

It sounds suspiciously like an air lock in the PAS fluid. Replace ALL of the PAS fluid as per RAVE using proper PAS fluid, you'll unlikely to need to do it again.
