Default Bad tick in my '04

I removed the belt but it's still ticking. Has anyone ever had a tappet tick?
I'm going to remove one plug wire at a time and see if it stops. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks

Forgot to say, the tick is only at idle. When the engine is revved, the noise goes away. Does this sound like valve train noise or bottom end noise?

If your oil pump looks like this, it can tick, and make enough PSI to turn off the light (7PSI), but not the 50 PSI that is spec for warm and 2000 rpm - test oil pressure with manual gauge.

But its not all the time that it ticks.....Sometimes it is a soft tick sometimes loud tick then it will just fad away all at idle....And like I said not at all.....Very strange...At least to me....

Now if it were a pump wouldnt it be all the time?

No it wouldn't tick all the time. Mine only did it under load and never when reving the engine. Sometimes I could hear it on the idle....sometimes I couldn't. Just like yours mine was outside of the cursed VIN range. However......sh1$ happens.

Strongly suggest to do the oil pressure test. If the pressure is good, then you are good to go. If it isn't, then it's a ticking time bomb that can cost you thousands of $$$$$$. It's not worth the risk.

Get your oil pressure checked.

Oil changes will not do anything but put a bandaid on a valve train noise. Been driving it for 3 years, you are running the old cash flow meter the longer you put of dealing with this issue.
