Battery draining problem - I think it's the SLS problem, What do I need to do??
Hey guys,
I have a battery draining issue and based on what I've read I suspect the SLS to be the problem. I had the coil conversion done and I pulled the fuse for the compressor but I didn't think about the SLS. I've heard a clicking sound from the right side a few times and it stops when I open and shut the door.
Question #1: Do you guys think I'm on the right track?
Question #2: What is the fix?
Thanks alot for any help you can give!

Pulling fuse kills compressor, and air supply, but SLABS can keep signalling valves in a vain attempt to bring vehicle level. This can take place after ignition off. They are supplied +volts from the SLABS. Disconnect common ground point for them and the the compressor, C0811; right under hood, easy to get at. Disconnect that one only. The other one is the ground lead from the fuel tank.
My wife brought the D2 to a friend of ours that is a mechanic today and he said that there are several grounds in the same location as the one on the diagram you sent us? He said he couldnt figure out which one was the right one.... I'm going to take a look when I get a chance and see if I can figure it out...but is there an easy way to tell which one is the one I need to disconnect?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Please show the friend this attachment. On the stud previously pictured, there are two cables, C0810 and C0811. You want to disconnect and tape up C0811, the ground for all the SLS pump and valves. The other wire, C0810, needs to stay attached, it is the ground return for the fuel pump, truck won't start without it.
The RAVE is your friend. And the mechanic is wise to not trust just any comment from the internet. That is a good sign. It will be easier to take off one wire that take off the molding to get at the pump assembly.

Thanks! I'm thinking he might not have been able to read the C0811 on the diagram when I printed it. I highlighted it so hopefully it will make sense to him now. Will let you know how it turns out!
Thanks
Thanks
All these drawings come from the RAVE, the factory tech manuals. You can download for free, and keep on home PC for quick reference, and carry on USB for sharing with mechanics, research while stranded at the hotel, or relieving boredom at the office....
