I tried to pick up a replacement battery at Sears today (Die Hard) and one of the cables (negative - which is physically attached to a ground bracket and has limited free movement) would not reach the battery post. The battery was suppose to be compatable with the 02 Discovery.

It looks the orginal still has some life left to it, but I was wondering if anyone in the forum can recommend a suitable replacement.

I've seen two mention (exide orbital & optima gold?).

Any recommendations appreciated. Thanks in advance. Dave

 

Do not ever go to sear for a battery, they make probably the worst battery made.
If you want a Good battery, go to Costco and buy an Optium Red Top, if you want a really great battery check out the batterys at Expedition Exchange, pricey but out of this world great.
Same thing for the cable, if you can't get a dead match to the factorys cable go to the dealer.
