BCU swap
The problems:
Front windows don't work and the engine is massively misfiring. According to the RAVE and some help here. This is likely attributed to a bad BCU. I went to a junk yard and yanked a same year (2002) unit.
Is it possible to simply swap BCU boxes with out consequence? To put it another way, is is Plug and play?

I would not swap it out till you find your mis-fire issue, what fault code numbers do you have?
And if you swap out the BCU, as already mentioned, it won't fix the mis-fire and you will not be able to start the engine until re-programed.

get the codes read, you are more likely having a problem with the wires or maf.
