Default belt change

when i was under the hood this morning i noticed the serp. belt was looking a little shiny and the grooves were a bit tattered.

whats the normal procedure for swapping the belt?

Loosen the belt tensioner, remove belt, replacement is reversale of removal.
Nothing to remove except the belt.
Make sure that the new belt is routed properly, very easy to goof up but still have it look right.

It is pretty straight forward, you could make it more difficult if you want to.
Remove the water pump first, then the belt.

It's a 15mm socket for the tensioner...I used a 3/4" drive ratchet, depending on strength a breaker bar could be required. Bring just enough tension off the belt with one hand and slide it out with the other...if you over crank the tensioner, oops new one required. Once the belt is off, the tension will have the ratchet against the battery box... no big deal, I held (by hand) the tensioner and removed the ratchet to allow the tensioner to seek home to ensure it applies proper tension on the new belt (sloppy tension = sloppy belt).

easy took 15 minutes

Thx for the tip! I started in on this job inorder to swap out a blown PS pump, then got in over my head...

SO I Just got done burning the Rave CD for the D2. Holy smokes what a treasure trove of info. I had NO IDEA.
