In terms of the RR, did you get the heads redone and new hoses installed when the head gasket was changed? If the gasket was just changed and the heads were warped then yes a gasket will probably only last 1000 miles.
...which, stupid me, I figured since he was so "Oh I have ALL the service records"...yet, never saw them, should have been a flag..

The RR, had the heads fully machined, hoses replaced. The issue the mechanic claims was the radiator being plugged...then, WTF not tell me that while he was doing the top end...( ! )

It's a gig on me for assuming.

It seems that way to me too.

My 99' DII SE7 has 175K and no problems. After the bad experience with an 04' DII SE with 40K and a 4.6, I'm very wary..
