Default Best results for clouded headlights?

I used some headlight restorer and they improved, but not like I want them. Can I hit them with my orbital buffer? What is the best solution aside from buying new ones? Anyone have a secret sauce?

When you have them to an acceptable appearance spray then with UV Resistant Clearcoat.

I've tried polishes and other headlight restorer kits on other vehicles and none of them had very good results. Replacing headlights is expensive, but the only thing that really works.

Default headlight clear plastic polishing

You can buy a clear plastic polish, sold for plastic aquariums, some which are huge, several hundred gallons, so big plastic, that work well. Or, as a final super fine polish, you can simply use tooth paste and a lot of elbow grease.

I've always wet sanded. Start with 800 or 1000, and work up to 3000. Then as mentioned above, spray with a UV coating

I always use Mother's headlight restorer that you can pick up at local auto part storre. The stuff has never failed, oh having a cordless drill will help with the buffing.

I’ve used this and it is by far the best stuff I have ever used. No need to sand if you are using a buffer and 3” pads. They have it for sale too. TP-3 is the code for it. Micropad buffing kit. It has all the adapters you need to use it with a high speed buffer or drill.
