If this works it will be a big step forward from the existing ethylene glycol for many reasons and far less fatal and polluting.
It is claimed to be more efficient also so there may be a plus plus scenario. Like all things we'll have to wait and see but let's hope we don't have to wait forever once again.

That's awesome. I wonder how much of a cooling system redesign we're talking about? Hopefully just a smaller radiator or higher temp t-stat. I'd love to be able to retrofit my Disco.
Something else to think about is waterless cooling.

Not sure about the chemical makeup of this product; it may be more toxic than traditional glycol based products. BUT - since it is low/no pressure it could solve a variety of problems in vehicles where head gaskets are troublesome. Wink, wink.

I bet you could flush the system and just dump that food additive in. If the system is cooling too efficiently, the thermostat will just be open less. I think the redesign in the article has to do with manufacturers capitalizing on the smaller, more efficient cooling system.
