Default Black Fender Flares Standard?

Hello all..I have a question. I picked up a my discovery and was looking at the fenders and noticed it didn't have fender flares. I looked at all the other rovers on Ebay for the same year make and model and they all had black fender flares. Is this not a standard option? The rims on my car are also a bit different from some 2002 rovers. The are 18 inch 5 split spokes. The car is an SE7.Sorry I am new to the rover lifestyle and this might be a stupid question but none the less I would appreciate any response. I am a car enthusiast and have always loved Vettes and Rovers...now I have both

Thanks,

Chris

i believe all d2s came with the black fender flares standard. the previous owner probably just took em off. the rims you are talking about sound like hurricane rims which are common rover wheels.

I agree, someone probably removed them and they are expensive to buy.

A couple of my black fender flares have some pitting and discoloration. I haven't found a place that sells stock replacements? Any good sources?

in the UK the only discos without the fender flares are the commercials or the entry spec models, but every other spec comes with the black flares

To buy new flares, it is the dealer or Atlantic British.
They all pit a little and I have tried a few different blackening products to dress them up but now last long. There is a new spray paint, made by Krylon I believe, that is for plastic material only, actually penetrating deep into the plastic. I am going to look into that as a way to refinish the flares.

I have used the Fusion plastic paint by Krylon. I first tried it on an Expedition, and it worked great. I then used it on the plastic rocker panels on the Disco. I am going to spray my bumper caps when it cools down. This stuff is great and lasts.

My fender flairs are also discolored from the sun etc. I tried a gel, which works good , but does not last long. Are the fender flares easy to take off, to paintwith the krylon plastic. Also, what finish would be recommended (flat, semi etc) as a way to save about $400 buying new one's.

I used satin. It looks the most like regular plastic. Anything you paint satin turns out looking plastic. I sprayed my wheel wells with undercoating and shot them with satin to seal them. Looks pretty good to me...
