Default Blared speaker (subwoofer?)- how do I replace?

My '95 Disco has a blared speaker (subwoofer?) in the rear door. Do I have to get an acutal Land Rover model or can I go to Circuit City and pick out a new one that will fit? Please excuse my airheadedness concerning this matter- I truly know nothing about stereo systems other than the fact that I want them to sound GOOD!

I found this one on eBay...: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Land-...QQcmdZViewItem ...and wondered if it's worth buying or will it just blare out again?

I guess my question now is- where do you put the subwoofer if it's not a Land Rover one? Do you just have it in the cargo area? I have jump seats and it's tight enough as it is when those are occupied... So I have to choose either good sound or passengers? Hmm.......tough one!

go with good sound just get something that will fit in the stock area, not a big deal with how proffesional audio installers have become

Actually you cant just replace it with any old 6" speaker but JL does make a 6" sub that will fit perfectly and will sound great I'm sure. I am actually purchasing two of the in a few weeks. I dont currently have any rear subs since they blew and I didnt wanna hear that ****ty sound while driving. I ripped them out...literally...lol. But as soon as I change them out I will let you know how they are.

We actually put in some 6" Kicker speakers in place of the blared ones- sounds great to me!

Thanks for all the help!

I got them at Circuit City- they were display models (very temporarily) so we got 'em cheap- about $55 for the pair.
