You can fill the bottle, raise it, and Crack the bleeder and still have air.

I have found, parking on a hill, steeeeeep hill, with the front up does help, I say this because everytime I do it this way I'm successful

Forget raising the bottle.

Raise the front end or park on a very steep hill.

I battled this issue last weekend and following the factory directions worked for the most part. One thing I did that isn't clear in the factory directions is letting the engine cool down with the expansion tank still raised and with the cap off once you are done with the initial filling and bleeding process. Doing this I added another half quart or so of coolant as it was cooling down. Once everything was cooled down and back in place there was one small bubbling noise on the first test drive but one quick 3 mile trip on the freeway took care of it and knock on wood the bubbling noise hasn't come back.

12. Fit expansion tank filler cap, fit the expansion
tank to its mountings
Believe the procedure is clear. If you do as recommended and allow it "cool" to cold, then remove cap and top off you should be good to go. Good idea to check on subsequent cold mornings to ensure coolant level good.

Ok, guessing I rushed the refill process of replacing the water pump.....Raised the bottle, opened the bleed screw. Filled until coolant was coming out of the bleeder and closed it. Filled the reservoir and started the engine. Ran to op temp, all seemed fine. Went to shut it down, no heat from heater.

I have let it cool several times and topped up to fill, maybe 1/8th of reservoir was missing.

Any ideas on what to do about getting the heater to purge? I assume if there is a bubble there, the rest of the system has other bubbles in it.
