Default Bling bling... Too much?

I am getting ready to do the HGs on my new 2004 so I have been preparing the valve covers, ceramic coating the exhaust manifolds, etc.

A local rover guy had this intake for sale. The price was too high for me, but I ended up trading some parts for it.

What do you think? I took the upper manifold to get polished and they wanted $400! Too bad this thing will be hidden...

My first thought was that guy has a better job than me, if hes got that much time on his hands. To bad he didnt spend that much time polishing the inside of intake.

It would be fine exposed on a street hotrod but on a D2, but, hmmm, it's seriously wasted.

I... I kinda like it. I hate that I like it, but I can't help myself.

If you have the funds then also have the heads ported and polished. It really wakes the truck up.

I'm going to work on polishing the inside of this manifold.

At the same time I'm going to ask the machinist to "knock off the dingleberries" as he calls it from the heads.

He said I could pay up to $1400 for port and polish if he went all the way.

I wish the upper manifold was polished like this one. This one you can't even see.

Abran, you've got too much time on your hands and don't waste the time and effort polishing the intake tract as the rest of the Rover engine is as efficient as a 50 year old lame donkey on roller skates, check out the bhp's per litre, it's appalling

You are probably right, Not about too much time but about the effect. My HG job is turning into a Mammoth. Now I will be installing an oil cooler, Changing out the Radiator, and adding an oil pressure gauge.
