Default Bloody Stuck Bolts in Head Gasket Removal

So so so close to having the bloody headgaskets out. Having a HELL of a time removing these bolts. Any advice on how to loosen them? Have tried WD-40 penetrating - they are NOT budging

Head bolts need at least a 2 1/2 foot bar to turn. They are “Torque To Yield” bolts and are very tight.

And I would suggest something to protect your windshield from breaking when your socket slips off the bolt head. I put a piece of old plywood over it.

And remember not to loosen anything past the crack point until every one of them has broken free.

You can try taping around the outside head of the bolt with punch and a hammer; also give the bolts another dousing of penetrating oil and let it sit overnight.

Make sure you have a tight fitting impact socket. Be sure clean everything out from around the bolt heads on the short ones in the end of the head down in the pocket. Put a little valve grinding compound on the inside of the socket to help grip the bolts.

@Harvlr could you be more specific with what you mean by 2.5 ft bar (photo or link)? I'm a visual person, not understanding what you're referring too.... I still have the bonnet attached but sounds like it may need to come off...

Thanks @mollusc

@gecko951 not sure what you mean by a punch (rubber mallet?)

@Extinct Ahhh, I definitely don't have a tight fitting impact socket.... will def invest in some valve grinding compound, great idea - thx

Would using a propane torch help? Or an induction heating bolt remover machine?

Cold punch...your local auto parts store, hardware store or neighbor who likes to work on classic cars should have a set.

You want a 30 inch or longer breaker bar...something like this:
