So so so close to having the bloody headgaskets out. Having a HELL of a time removing these bolts. Any advice on how to loosen them? Have tried WD-40 penetrating - they are NOT budging
You can try taping around the outside head of the bolt with punch and a hammer; also give the bolts another dousing of penetrating oil and let it sit overnight.
Make sure you have a tight fitting impact socket. Be sure clean everything out from around the bolt heads on the short ones in the end of the head down in the pocket. Put a little valve grinding compound on the inside of the socket to help grip the bolts.
@Harvlr could you be more specific with what you mean by 2.5 ft bar (photo or link)? I'm a visual person, not understanding what you're referring too.... I still have the bonnet attached but sounds like it may need to come off...
