Went with Lucky 8. The brakes are acting fine today, but am still going to swap out pins/boots and relube. Going to check the front while I am at it too. I am guessing they will be worse as they take the brunt of the road.

The front brakes are substantially more important. If you don't flush and refill the fluid now, at least bleed all of the brakes, in sequence. You didn't confirm this on your agenda. When you do pads on the front, you have to get new rotors or have the old ones turned or your truck will likely shake or shriek, or both.

I am finally getting around to doing the brake bleeding, and front rotors/pads. I rebuilt the master cylinder so going to do an entire flush and bleed starting with bench bleeding the master cylinder, then bleeding to the ABS pump, then manual then by using the pump per Drowssap. I have been waiting for the cliper boots for two weeks due to some issues with a vendor not sending them.

I also put on new SS brake lines so it has been a big job, and had to get a couple of brake pipes, re packed the wheel speed sensors, so hopefully I am braking better and no more 3 amigos, fingers crossed.

A couple of things from my experience. Bench bleeding is not difficult and went very easily. The kit that I had only had one fitting that fit into the master cylinder, so I used a fitting from a brake pipe I had cut off to bench bleed. If you are buying a bench bleeding kit make sure there are two, or you could use two brake fitting with a small length of pipe, some clearish tubing and a clip to keep the tubing under the brake fluid.

After that I just unscrewed the two fitting entering in the ABS Pump per Drowsap and had my Dad depress the pedal. Worked like a charm.

We manually bled the system per the Rave Manual, and then followed it up by doing the ABS pump trick and it worked great. We would engage it for about three seconds and it would push a good amount of fluid. I used 2 quarts almost exactly and that is with four new brake lines, and 2 new front Brake Pipes.

One of my wheel speed sensors reacted well to being re-sat with grease and anti sieze. The other did not so I will be replacing the front left.

I picked up two more jack stands so that we could have all four tires off for bleeding, and that was the best 29.99 that I spent. It made it so easy. Napa had them on sale so I got the 3 tons, and they are really nice. Evercraft brand.

Overall, I learned that don't ever use a regular wrench on a brake line, at least just getting it loose. Menards had a flarenut set for $12 I think. You will need 13mm and 11mm. Also, get the truck on four jack stands, and a nice 3 ton SUV jack will make your life so much better.

The Brakes are much better and no complaints so far, and I have no worries about

I am going to give some quick praise to EBC Sport front rotors and akebono brake pads. Driving back to Chicago the brakes have bite and are very confident. Huge upgrade over my old pads/rotors, and are working better than I can remember.

Also, again thanks to all of the advice, very helpful. Happy New Year guys.
