Brake Light on intermittently
Hi,
I just bought a 1997 Discovery automatic. After a day of normal driving, I noticed that every once in a while, either when I'm holding the brakes when stopped, or bouncing over a bump, the red light that says "brake" comes on. It's the one that comes on when the parking brake is pulled. What could this be? the parking brake isn't on when it comes on, and the brakes feel normal, not spongy or a long travel.
thanks.[/align]

Check your brake fluid level. There is a level sensor made into the cap. If the fluid is ok, check the level sensor to make sure it is sending out the right readings.
I had this problem awhile back.
My fluid was a little low, however I had a lot of dirt and gunk on the cap for the fluid.
Cleaned connectors and cap, topped off fluid and have not had the light on since.

Hi I know this is an old post, but I have the exact same problem. My brake light on the dash comes on and off. Off when I break and on when I drive or go over a bump. It's like a dickey switch. I just had new rear break pads, and oil change and an inspection. Lastly I personally changed my reverse bumper lights. What could it be?!
