Brake problems, almost had an accident

Brake Bleed
My Local indy a very honest guy, charged me 260 for few things together as outlined below:
All fluids and material are myself, I did not want their fluids.
1. Transmission Flush and filter change: He drained the transmission 3 times and on the third time replaced filter and gasget. He was not happy about putting Lucas in there, apparently it is very thick and was not going through the pump, even though he mixed it with transmission oil. BTW, my transfluid looked very dark
2. He changed front and rear axle and transfer case oil with 75-140 synthetic oil, adding 1/3 of white shepheredand to each.
3. He will drain (not flush) the coolant and change my thermostat. His book was quoting 1.8h for thermostat, when I showed him where it was, he was surprised and obviously didn't charge me 1.8 hours
4. Bleed/flush the brake system
It was 6:00pm before he could get to brakes and coolant, they will be done monday together with the power steering pump, which will be an additional $100.
He quoted my 90-100 for wire change, but I think he didn't know how they are changed on our discovery, so this might not hold.
260 for all of the above, all materials are mine. I think it is a fair /very good price.
