Default Brake Question

Alright its come time for me to replaced the rear rotors and brake pads on my 99 DI, when looking at rotors I was thinking about getting cross drilled rotors instead of the solid rotors but they are about three times the price. So my question is which is going to be better to get solid rotors or the cross drilled? When asking the mechanic at my local Meineke shop he said solid because the cross drilled when warped can't be remachined? any help is welcome thanks!

a lot of the shops dont want to resurface drilled rotors because the holes can destroy the cutting tool tips ( and those things aint cheap ) IMO unless you are heading to the autobahn soon use the regular style and put the extra money towards mike and spikes x-mas present.

First of all, slotted and drilled rotors are ment to be resurfaced, just for that reason, then again, Rover rotors are not be to be resurfaced either, too thin and the metal is too soft.
I have a set of DBA rotors with kevlar pads that have nearly 80,000 miles on them and they are great
Yes good slotted and drilled rotors are more expensive, but will out stop plain rotors many times over.
Make sure what ever you use that you use lots of sound deadening spray, bleed your brakes and repack your wheel bearings.

If you want to improve D1 brakes one of the best things you can do is switch to D90 front front calipers and rotors. Rears are the same.
Braided stainless flex lines help as well. Also renew the fluid in the brake system.
If you off-road at all use RTC3511 hub seals instead of the Disco OEM seals.
