Default Brake switch?...

On Sunday I experienced the stuck in park situation. Took the shifter cover off and have been manually moving the shifter pin to change gears. Brake lights are also out. Read a few threads around this issue, but am still not clear on cause of issue. Does this sound like a broken brake light switch? Shifter pin in center of pic.

sounds like it, you can test it to make sure by pulling the pigtail from switch & jump the connection with a piece of wire to see if it will release the pin, if switch is problem you can get the genuine part from autozone for $12 or $13, and it the upgrade version, it says (made in Malta) or similar on box, but on switch it says Made in Germany,
