It could be a bad wheel speed sensor, or a bad ABS modulator.

So the next question is how badly do you want ABS?
Only a mechanic with a ABS scanner can tell you for 100% what is wrong.

But I can tell you that the ABS modulator going bad on a DI is common and the cheap fix is to pull the ABS pump fuse from the fuse box under the hood.

With only 75,000 miles on it the first thing I would do is flush the brake fluid, it will be cheap and is supposed to be done every 2 years anyway. (per LR)

Only problem with pulling the ABS fuse is that the stupid light bulb in the dash will last longer than the rest of the vehicle.

This is true, mine has been on for almost 3 years...it's my good luck charm.

Whatever it the cause is, my guess is that it will eventually throw the abs light as it did in my case. I'm going to fix it soon, I'll let you know what it turned out too be. I have a hunch I have a bad hub and sensor.

Spike- pull the 2 screws holding the instument shroud, pull the instrument panel and pull the bulb for the ABS. Mine was actually pulled when I bought the truck. Takes 5 minutes total and it isn't blaring at you at night. I fixed it and pulled it again. I kept thinking I had a CEL.

Default great info

no no ABS light... though now that i have said that it will probably happen on the way home. The guy I got it from had two new abs sensors for the rear wheels... I may just swap them out for good measure since the parts are there already. Either way this isnt exactly my biggest problem right now. Need to work out the misfire issues im having before the truck decides to retaliate and leave me stranded. Been waiting for parts for ove r a week now.... thanks to the military mail system..... hopefully tomorrow or tuesday.....
