Default Britpart Lowr Coolant Hose Leak

I got both of my new rear hubs and new brakes on, and noticed a bit of collant under the Passenger front of the vehicle.

On inspection the loser coolant hose is leaking around the junction where the hose goes to the Thermostat. The hoses cannot be tightened I don't think.

Is the wisest course of action to order the Aluminum junction, cut the hose clamps off and reuse the hoses with the aluminum junction and new hose clamps? Or just order new Genuine Hoses?

probably. there's a good chance the plastic junction piece has a small crack in it.

Thanks jastutte. I am leaning towards just ordering the genuine hoses, but the rest of my britpart hoses are fine with the same age/wear. Going to sleep on it. I would like to have the aluminum junction and hate to toss good hoses I could get more life out of.

Depends on which one has the leak, and how old your plastic is. Any plastic older than 10 years should be replaced. If you use my inline kit we replace the plastic thermostat housing with a metal splice, but still use the plastic spider. As long as the plastic spider is relatively new you should be ok, have had old ones crack at the junction/splice.

How much is your kit and what comes with it?

Now may be the time to do it, but I may just try to fix the current setup with new hose clamps. Only a couple of years old.

Comes with housing, thermostat element, bolts, gaskets, and hose splice. Original hoses and clamps reused. If you are interested send me your email via pm and I will provide all the information. Even if you don't use my kit do the inline mod and get rid of the old plastic, it will crack eventually and nothing good happens then.

Just ordered the inline kit to eliminate the plastic. Should have done this a long time ago.

Thanks to Extinct for being great, and I may do the conversion at a later date, but I settled on replacing the lower hoses, since I had to anyway.

The job wasn't too bad. I was able to access the hose on the water pump just removing the jockey pulley and belt tensioner. Glad to be back on the road. I had very little use of the truck in 2020. I want that to change!
