broken axle?
I have a 97 discovery its been making a popping sound in the front drivers side for a couple of days.Tonight I went to pull out of the driveway when it make alot of noise when I turned the wheel real far to one side.Now it will not move at all when you put it in gear you can hear a feel a noise behind the front tire.It will not move in 4high or low.any idea what Im looking at and how bad the repair might be

The axles on these are pretty easy to replace. I've never done it but it is pretty straight forward.
Have you checked your differental fluid to make sure that it isint low? Drain that and see if big chunks come out, maybe you broke your front diff. Jack up the front of the trk, can you turn the wheels by hand?

The axle is broke. We took it apart today. it took about 10 minutes to get it out. Not hard at all. Now i just have to replace it. It was shattered. Thank for your help. I found a hole front end axles and all for 350. Thats good compaired to what land rover was going to charge me. Almost 700 bucks...
