In my diligent effort to prevent my front driveshaft from becoming a wear item, I went to grease the zerk fittings today. Unfortunately, when I went to remove the grease gun, it ended up taking (some? All?) of the zerk off of the driveshaft with it.
I’m not exactly familiar with how this works - will the grease just fly out of the driveshaft or is it still sealed? Do I need to replace the driveshaft again?
You could drive a bit if needed, but yeah, you'll want to replace that zerk. Try threading that one back in and see if it holds, could have just been loose. If the zerk threads are gone, you can find one at any auto parts store.
I don’t know if it’s any kind of standard but my regular duty front driveshaft from Lucky 8 uses 6mmx1 zerk fittings. I found out the same way you did...

NAPA has a metric “variety pack” for lack of a better term for like $6. I don’t know if they sell them individually- they might and I just bought the pack because I didn’t know the size at the time.
