Default Broken lines/tubes... what are they?

I have a 2000 Discovery II and was replacing the cat converter and O2 sensors over the weekend, and while I had the D2 on the jack stands I noticed 3 plastic lines/tubes that were broken and sealed due to heat. The 3 lines are running along the passenger side of the engine (currently attached: running from the rear to front, where the front no longer attached to anything), next to the oil pan and exhaustmanifold, and all 3 were severed in approximately the same place (within 1/2" of each other). They looked to be severed due to a a break, and as a result of being near the exhaust/cat a couple are melted at the end. Below is a photo looking down from the passenger side.

I've searched the RAVE manual and cannot figure out what these lines do, nor can I find a place where they should be attached. I have brakes, and am having no coolant leaks, so my guess is they have something to do with vacuum and perhaps the emissions/exhaust system.

Anyone know what these lines are for? Thanks.

those are the breather tubes for the transmission and/or the front differential.

make sure they are open and not melted shut.

if you do any off-roading and, specifically, wading you need to replace the breather hoses and get them up higher so water will not get into either the transmission or differential.
