Default broken pinion rear differential

i was thinking of ordering a used differential assembly.i know your supposed to pull halfshafts before pulling old assembly.was wondering the procedure of removel and replacement of assembly.do i need any special tools.do i need to order a seal are new bearings.please explain in detail thinking of doing it myself.cant find mechanic on this small island that wants to work on rover.i have a 1997 disco with 4 bolt flange .dont want to rebuild yust replace

Well, I cant help you and it is late here on the East Coast, but if you keep your post on the first page by "bumping" it you are sure to get some help.
I do know that on Rovers it is a very easy job. From what I understand a novice can do it in a day.

I can offer no specific advice as well. I had the shop do mine. You can however, search the forums for "Rave CD". It's a free download of the shop manual and it'll walk you through replacing your diff.

How many miles on your truck, all you really need to a hub socker to pull the axles. Try some place like http://www.roverlandparts.com/index....S&Category=500
for a used diff.
