Default Guys & Gals RockWare Front and Rear Pinion Guards Installed!

I got these in the mail last Friday. Finally got around to putting them on. The front needed a 2mm thick spacer to make it not touch the drag link.
$80 for the front
$60 for the rear

Hardware included looks like 3/16" steel.
Now Im ready for some hits.

My set are pretty old, so there's been a design change (based on your pictures). The rear I have has a flat length of metal from front to back, with support in the middle, to keep you from hitting the bolt heads (similar to the way the front is done.)

They're great for catching the grease coming off a leaky u-joint.

Do you have a diff guard welded on the front diff? Couldn't tell from the picture...

If not, then you probably need them too. You don't want to be this guy:

Yes decarr1971
You can barely catch the front of the of the diff guard in the first picture. Its a bolt on with two bolts. Its a D1 diff guard that I had welded in an additional 2 inches on the clamping ring. I bought them in a pair and sold the other on eBay for what I paid for both. About $65 on eBay. I never saw a reason for the rear diff guard unless you backed into a rock, I guess anything can happen but seems less likely.

While my front diff guard is beat to snot, the rear has seen its fair share of hits. The last trail I ran a couple weeks back took a shot at the guard when I slipped off a rock with the back tire. I noticed the white residue still on the guard as I crawled around the Disco on Sunday. It happens.

I definitely agree that it's less likely that you'll whack the rear diff, but it's something I managed to do last winter. While climbing a steep, rocky, icy trail I ended up sliding backwards onto a large rock that gave my rear diff guard a pretty good shot. (How hard did it hit? I wasn't moving too fast, but it stopped the whole truck sliding backwards down the trail and took enough of the weight off the rear wheels that I couldn't get any traction with them.)

The front is certainly the big concern, but rear shouldn't be forgotten...
