Default Buzzing Sound in Reverse

This morning, when the wife was backing the Disco down the driveway (in CA) I heard a buzzing sound coming from in or around the engine compartment. It went away as soon as she put it in a forward gear. Tried it again in reverse and the sound returned. Any ideas? I know it is not much to go on, but thought I would ask anyway. It was not to cold, around 40f and the Disco was in the garage overnight. We have not experienced any other issues with the tranny, no hard shifts, delayed shifts or anything of the like. No codes or check lights have come on.

I have only had the Disco for a week now and I am happy to say that I forced them to provide a 3 month or 3,000 mile warranty on the engine, tranny and transfercase and diffs. Before I bring it in, I thought I would check here. I will probably do the tranny service next weekend and see if it makes any difference.

So this happens every time you put it in reverse?

Man, only in reverse, coming from under the hood...I need to sleep on this one.
Engine warm/cold doesnt matter...
The phase of the moon daoesnt matter...
How about the tide? High or low? Still does it?
I have to think this one over.

My 03 does it as well... I figured it is simply a rover buzz such as the famous rover clunk... let me know if you find out anything...

I am going to have it looked at Monday. The dealer I purchased it from a week ago, is going to replace two brake pads for free, so will ask them to take a look under the short warranty I negotiated. Will let you know.

How many miles on the Disco?
Might want to consider the drivers side motor mount as a possibility. It may be cracked and allowing the engine to move and vibrate against something.
Also consider a loose heat shield for the exhaust.
