Default A/C Compressor

A/C Compressor on my 2004 SE7 is making grinding and knocking noises. When I open the hood I can see it shudder every now and then so it's clearly in it's death throws. I have downloaded the RAVE manual and the steps to replace it are fairly straight forward. The question I do have is, what is the best method for recovering the refrigerant? I assume its a certified shop but its doubtful the Disco will make it to the shop before the compressor gives up the ghost. Thanks in advance for the help!

The only way to recover the refrigerant is to have a shop evacuate the system with a machine. Any auto shop will have a machine, hell I'm sure jiffy lubes have them as well. You shouldn't be more than 15 minutes from somewhere that can do it, unless you're in the boonies

Don't be one of those guys who dumps it into the atmosphere
