Default A/C control dead blower motor fuse blows instantly

My 2004 for discovery AC died last week. The blower motor fuse was blown, so I replaced the blower motor resistor. Put the 10 amp fuse back in, and the same problem, the fuse blows when you turn the key. As a side note to the problem, the a/c drain hole on the passenger side was bottom was not draining and water had been pouring into passenger side floor board. I cleared the weep hole underneath and a fair amount of water drained out. I live in Florida so the unit works hard, and my wife has commented the air was not cooling enough. I’m guess due to the age maybe the o rings are starting to leak, and maybe I fried the system by not adding in refrigerant. The other A/C fuse 30 amp I believe is not blown. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. My Land River mechanic retired earlier this year. Thank you.

Let's start by making sure you have downloaded the Rave manual and can get to the circuit diagrams, we can walk you through troubleshooting the circuit.

Many thanks for the heads up. I’ve started reviewing the A/C diagram chart, pages 82-85. Would not know where to start. Thanks again for the help.

OK, you are on the correct page, or close (I am on page 81). So if I understand correctly fuse 31 in the fusebox below the instrument panel is blowing, correct? So if you follow the wire from the fuse to the right, you will see it goes to three different plugs. So your choice is to unplug them one at a time and see if the fuse still blows (could blow three fuses this way) or unplug them all and them plug them in one at a time until you find the one that blows the fuse. Report back what you find. Post the image of the page here if you have questions of how to trace - you can take a highlighter to a screen clipping so we make sure we are on the same circuit.

Alright, found that the blower resistor (the one I replaced) was the culprit. I unhooked the relay blow r176, and now I have A/C!!!!. Thank you Thank you.

Now i’m sure I have another step, figure I need to replace the relay-blower r176. Many many thanks for your patience and guidance.
