I recently had my stereo stolen out of my Disco. Ever since then my A/C control unit will not store the settings for the Fahrenheit to Celsius and does not remember the previous temperature and fan speed settings once power is turned off.

I have replaced the ECU with a spare I had and it is doing the exact same thing.

Anyone have a clue what could be causing the unit to not store it's settings?

There is going to be a battery keep alive wire which got cut during the
hasty removal of your radio.

I thought people could not be bothered to remove radios these days due to the code needed???

Check ALL the fuses. One may have blown when they were cutting multiple wires in a bundle rapidly..

IF they are cutting say 5 wires at a time, they go across a hot - and a ground and blow the fuse.

In fact --- I bet that is it!!!

They cut the radio harness with a big pair of wire cutters and blew the fuse
on the keep alive batt circuit.

I would suggest renting a garage or moving.

Fuse 20 inside truck comes to mind.

Was it a stock stereo??? I'm going to hit my head against the wall if it was... Sorry about all this.

No the stereo was a $600 Kenwood with builtin gps, xm radio, and bluetooth. It was installed by the previous owner.
I'll check the fuses and the wiring again. Thanks for the input.

Savanah and Jfall hit it right again. Fuse 20 was the culprit! Thanks guys!

Try to find an identical Kenwood on eBay.
Order it.
And, match the colors wire for wire.
And, you are back in business with the radio.

I ended up putting in a $100 Kenwood with detachable faceplate and purchasing a separate gps & xm radio for half what the other kenwood would cost. Now I can take it all inside with me.
