Smile A/C help???

My 2000 Disco II has had a problem before where the A/c blower turns on and off randomly. It finally turned off and will not come back on. I took the blower out and hard wired it to the battery and it took off and worked so I know it is not the blower. There are two relays that are attached to the side of the blower housing and I disconnected them and connected them and they engaged and disengaged like they were supposed to. Does anyone have an idea of what relay or wiring problem I could have? Has anyone had this problem before. The first time I had this problem was about 4 years ago and my car was still under warrenty and LR replaced the blower and on my way home it turned off so I went back and they did something to make it work and I had not had a problem until lately. But it makes me think the blower was not the problem the first time if it turned off right after they replaced it with a new one. If anyone could give me an idea of where to start it would be greatly appreciatred.

There is a resister to the blower and that is know to go bad as well as the relays.

Spike,
When I look up the blower it states that it is the heater blower . I know the blower controls the speed at which the air is discharged and not the temperature so if I would purchase a new "heater blower assembly" which has the two relays and another resister or some kind of regulator mounted on the side, I would be buying the right thing? The resister or that is what I am calling it is mounted above the two relays and is actually mounted to the housing where the two relays can be taken off and the power cord from the blower can be traced to back to it. Do you think that could be the curlprit?

00&04 Disco check out my blower fix thread below.

https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=22524

It is usually a faulty interior fuse block, specifically at the blower fuse. Between the wire harness connector on the back and the fuse on the front, there is a break in the power supply through the block. You can replace the fuse block, or bypass the block altogether, like I did, and run a independent fused wire to the blower.

The resistor pack can go bad, however, if the max speed fan setting doesn't work, then it is not the resistor pack. Max fan speed bypasses the resistor pack. There is a different rated resistor for each slower fan speed.

Note: Both of my fuseblocks (interior and under the hood) were dead for the blower circuit, and I bypassed both. See the attached images in the linked thread.

I actually have the same exact problem, the fan motor cuts out on high and then comes back on. However the switch it seems is to blame because if I wiggle it, it stops doing it, I thank you for the advice on the circuit.

palmetto,
When you say you gug out the wire and connected it to a 25/30 amp bypass wire did you just put an inline fuse in and than wire these directly to the blower? I guess I do not know exactly how you did this. Any more indepth clarification would be greatly appreciated.
