The trick is -
Add a little to low side.
Wait 5 mins.
Temp goes down a bit.
Add a little more.
Temp may go down. Or may go up.
If it goes up - stop - over charged.

If you keep putting in more and then the compressor starts to cycle - then way over charged.

GOOD RESULTS SO FAR....I went the simple route first (cheapest) and cleaned the condensor a few times with some simple green and low pressure rinse- the dirt and bugs coming out were minimal, but there nonetheless! Then I hooked up the low side and pressure tested it according to the instructions and it read lower than it should've- Went out and grabbed the "high mileage" coolant from IDQ w/ stop leak, conditioners, driers, etc-- (first can i added a few days ago didnt have "stop leak".....ended up having to add about 3/4 of the can (took your advice jfail--worked perfectly) and is now on 2 full days of COLD AIR! Fingers crossed and thanks again to everyone-

Huh? Lose 15% cooling capacity by bypassing the heater core? 2003 - ?? Range rovers bypass the heater core when the ac is on - Every BMW bypasses the heater core when the ac is on. Every old American car bypassed the heater core when you slid the switch to cold - It's just good practice not to heat you'r HVAC box to 200* when you are trying to air condition you'r car!
