A/C question on a 98 4.0 disco 1
Ive decided to take the plunge and purchase my first land rover. It is a 98 discovery I LSE with 107,000 miles. I took it out and drove it yesterday, was a good test drive. Everything seemed to work exept the A/C. When I got back I asked the guy about it. He said he took it to his mechanic and his guy connected the compressor directly to the battery to test it and the A/C worked fine then, then put it back to normal wiring routing. Is there something between the connection of the A/C compressor and the power source that would cause it not to come on? A/C relay maybe or is that to easy.
Other thing I ran into was that when I first started the truck the rear windows would not roll down. Once the truck ran for about 5 min. I tried again and they worked fine for the rest of the drive. Is this a common issue? Thanks in advance, I will pick this truck up tomorrow and will get some pictures taken of it.

RE: A/C question on a 98 4.0 disco 1
The a/c is controlled by the ECU, if the freon is low, it won't start, if the a/c pressure swith is bad it won't start.
Could also be a bad control unit.
As for your brakes, that is long and complecated and may not be an expensive repair.
Send me your tele number and a good time for me to call you and we can go over all of this.
