A/C radiator fan seized
Was driving with he A/C on, uphill, on a 110 degree day and noticed my temps reached 225. Very odd considering the 180 degree thermostat keeps temps around 188-194. Just checked and found what I suspected to be the culprit: blown fuse for the A\C fan and upon inspecting the fan, it’s totally seized up. How the heck does this happen? And is it worth/possible trying to repair or should I just get a new fan?
Ended up going this route... will report back... https://www.autozone.com/cooling-hea...128/574625_0_0
@Brandon318 I replaced mine a few months ago and just bought the motor instead of the assembly. It was a little DIY but the motor was $30 instead of $120+ for the new motor.
I did the motor replacement only too. You can even manage the job without fully removing the grille.
Top right bolt is a bear to reach hidden behind hood latch assembly.
Managed to find a 5/16 (8mm) ratcheting wrench. Saved my sanity.
Good luck.
Dramatic improvement in my AC cooling power post project.
