Wow. This engine replacement project has kicked my butt. I am swapping a rebuilt 4.6 into my 2000 Disco II and the little detail parts have been rough. The current status is that the old 4.0 is dangling on the crane and the new 4.6 is on the stand and ready to install but for one part: the cam end plug.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow. Big rain. All of this is outside.

Atlantic British has the cam end plug for 6.95. No biggie. But I need it today. I have a 1 3/4 freeze plug but it is slightly small.

Does anyone know of an auto parts store equivalent to the land rover cam end plug? I've called four stores and they have no idea.

If I had one in my old engine in the garage, I'd take it back to work after lunch and spec it out for you... but it was destroyed when parts of the camshaft were ejected out the back of the engine when a connecting rod severed the cam.
