Default camshaft removal

Anyone have any advice on getting a stuck camshaft out without distroying the front of the block. I have the thrust plate off but the camshaft will not come out. I have the sprocket and gear on to aid but cannot get out. i can turn it but it takes a scocket wrench to get moving... any input would be great...

Thanks Chris

Default got it out

got it out...ended up tapping with a rubber mallet in the front so it knocked out the plug in the back of the block. I then got a large socket and extension and put on camshaft end. A couple wraps with a sledge hammer and it was free. Cause....The two center bearings are shot...shreaded to be exact. Looks like new camshaft bearings...oh.... the fun.....
