Default Camshaft removal- check my math please!

I'm working on replacing camshaft bearings. So far, I'm not having fun. Before I continue to torture myself further I want to make sure I'm not operating under some flawed logic.

1) remove all the accessories
2) remove the intake section and valley pan
3) remove rocker covers
4) remove front cover
5) remove rocker assemblies

If I have a grasp on this, the cam will be free to come out with the lifters released by the removal of the rocker, just some jockeying of the a/c condenser will be required. What I can't fathom yet is exactly where and how I'm going to get access to place the new cam bearings into their respective bores, but I'm hoping as this thing comes apart the answer to that mystery will be revealed. Any guidance would be most appreciated.

I have an engine from my disco open of you'd like photos. If I can figure out how to get them here, that is.

Well I have the heads off. I don't think a picture of what I have would help you. I thought the cam bearings had to be replaced from the bottom but that shows how little I know...

Sounds like we should combine forces! We both know just enough to be dangerous. My understanding is I can leave the heads on, but by removing the rocker arm assemblies, I can get the lifters released to remove the cam. Then I'll have to work form the bottom to get the bearings in. Apparently, it can be done with the crank in place, but I'm growing skeptical, since it will be tough to get the oiling hole lined up with passage in the block. Wish me luck.

You can leave heads on

Rocker assembly and covers off to get to push rods
I.m. Off to get to followers
Accessories off to get to front cover
Front cover off to get to cam
Radiator off to pull cam
Thrust plate off to release cam

Good call, I forgot this is the walked bearing, right?
So are you replacing all the cam bearings? I assume so.
It seems a task on the rear with the engine in.

If ur truly a bad ***, you MAY be able to slide hammer the rear bearing out the front and not have to mess with the plug. There is a tool called an inside bearing puller that would help you.
