Camshaft Sensor

Camshaft Sensor
ok so the sensor is leaking oil for starters. I have another sensor here with me and it has a plastic concave ring on it at the base. is this right first off? And i don't see any O-ring which I see there should be?
Next can I remove it with out removing the harmonic balancer to just add a new O-ring to it and or swap with the spare I have?
Thanks

Ok now you have me second guessing myself here.
if I run it up to temp with the oil cap off and I have no leak then I have something plugged.
If it does leak then o ring.
Trying to recall when I attached pvc house to the valve cover now. As all the run ups didn’t leak until it was out for test drives

Stretch a balloon or latex glove over the oil fill hole, you should have it sucking in slightly, if not or there is pressure your pcv is not working correctly. There is no possible way for that sensor to leak oil without pressure in the crankcase. There is no oil level that high in the engine, at best, it might get a little splash from the chain.

Hmmm, I don't think so, but maybe. You definitely improved on my original design. First post I see from you on the topic is dated 8/27/18 https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...12/#post659693

However it is possible I missed one

Yeah the inline FV237 tapped into the OEM line, but not by replacing the plastic nipple with a PCV like my idea which kills 2 birds with one stone. It still boggles my mind how LR completely ditched a PCV in the 96 and up stuff on the old Rover V8. I have pulled SO MANY of the darn baffles and found them completely clogged 100% and the engine was just gross with probably more oil outside of the engine vs in it.
